Lights dont turn cause of a flashing light or remote. Its a special unit made by 3M called Opticom. It sends specials signals to those sensors. About $300. I had it on my rig in Pomona although our signals didn't.

just so you know if your not an emergency vehicle and are caught using one of those, your vehicle is seized. not impounded.

its the same as using emergency lights to get through traffic. police departments are not very leniant when it comes to things like that. if your lucky, they'll throw a hell of a fine your way after impounding the car. but you have to convince the judge you were justified to use emergency equipment for something and why you had it in the first place.

Then he'll ask why you didn't take it off and why you were using emergency equipment on a non-authorized emergency vehicle, which is a bitch to get registered as. If you have a sunroof, just stick it through, flash the signal, and then put it back inside. :D
