come on...this film is BLASPHEMY!!!!
Any TRUE..or REAL Transformer fan from back in the day will know..this movie is killing the spirit of the cartoon. Come on? Autobots are now GM cars? PLEASE!!! The bumblee camaro? an H2 hummer autobot? ugh...talk about killing the original toys.
I was told by my nerdier friends this movie was going to suck..and when I finally saw all the GM cars involved..I am tending to agree. Crap.
But I action and explosions..so I will see it. But...ugh...way to kill a childhood memory.
Hate to break it to you AI, but Transformers has always been about marketing.

Transformers, originally, was a half hour commercial for Hasbro Inc. and several other manufacturers of toys and such products. There were more characters added each season so that the kids can "collect them all". Then the selling of the toys slowed down because people had already bough the main characters and that is all that they were interested in. In comes Transformers the Movie. An 80's cartoon that was based somewhat on the Japanese Animation style with a heavy metal soundtrack. Mainly because, like the cartoon the movie was an American product that was given to Japanese cartoonists. So what was the point of this film? To kill off all the main characters and create a new team of Autobots and Decepticons in order to stimulate the sales of new toys. Hence the Killing of Optimus Prime and the Birth of Rodimus Prime. Now this marketing tool is being used again for the same purpose.
So in the end, this movie is a two hour GM commercial of a half hour Hasbro Inc. commercial.

With all that being said, I will probably see this movie, be disappointed, and wonder why I just had to see this in theaters when I knew I was going to be disappointed.
