aren040 wrote:Steve man, trust me when I tell you that you can not look at it that way. Hell, you don't even want to know how many pieces my wife got when we were dating. Then again, it was easy and cheap for me since my father is in the industry and I would never pay retail.

Also, Tiffany stuff is ridiculously overpriced because they have made the name. So even though I could get something nicer for my wife, she still wanted something from Tiffany's and such.

Your so right, My ex didnt care about the price... well in a way she did, she wanted to wear tiffany because it was expensive and everyone knew it. So Steve, if you ever meet a girl with any fashion sense, im sure she will get very upset if you buy her a necklace from "Kay Jewelers" instead of Tiffany. Only other jeweler that she wouldnt mind wear was Jacob the Jeweler but thats like P.Diddy or Cheating Kobe money right there!

That statement only true for bookworm boyfriendless for 10 years kinda girls... It definatly matters how much the gift appears to have cost you. Women you date rate you on the quality of the gift you get them. Im sure the first gift you give her she will be checking for thought but after that you "the Thought that counts" doesnt apply anymore.
