Now it is time to make deeper cuts which include watching how much I drive and looking out for better prices on groceries and so on. I also try to renegotiate my insurance rates and credit cars interest rates. At least it is good that winter is coming. I can save some by not having to air condition the place anymore.

Good call on the A/C.... :)

Funny thing is I find myself pulling the budget further (spending more on ads), new tools etc. in order to offer more to the customers. We're currently shopping for a system which will allow the shop to trouble shoot via codes, reset, show code values and possibly chipping the Porsche cars. . .

I know it sounds a bit wierd to spend but on the flip side it might help to bring more in to help keep a-float.

No problem (way to support the shop), we're checking to see what is the best system available for service work.

RECESSION ... what RECESSION ...?
Ok here in Greece we dont have this problem, but, it is more then a market correction then a recession as I see it from outsite US!
IMO the way you Americans have to see it, is that this is the way to manage your personal budget programme in a first place and not when something like this have already done!
I have the ''American'' problem also and I spent my monay here and there like no tomorrow, but, I have no kids, no loans and I always have a ''future ex girlfriend'' at my side, so I can do whatever and whenever I like, and I do it just perfect! :)
So even if ever the recession hit us here in Greece I will do just the same but with less monay! ;)

aren040 wrote:Lefty, there are a lot of problems that led to this and to be honest you can say that every recession or depression is in reality a market adjustment. That is one of the things with this country and the world in general, we use many terms to describe the same thing.

The Government calls it a market adjustment, the media calls it a recession, and politicians say that it could be a financial crisis. Why? Well that is because the Government doesn't want people to panic while at the same time they don't want a recession on their file while they served. The Media likes to panic people because that is what gets ratings. As for the politicians, well they just want to scare you into giving up more of your money, rights, freedoms, and whatever else they can take from you.

The reality is that there is more than just one issue here. There was a lack of oversight and regulation, there was a lack of personal responsibility. It was entirely too easy to get a line of credit. The list goes on and on and to be honest, everyone is to blame. Both political parties, big corporations, lenders, borrowers, sellers, buyers, and that list goes on too.

But now, when it is time to reap what we have sewn, well we don't like to lay in the bed we make now do we.

-aren

You are correct my friend Aren and am with you on this, but!
IMO the blame it has to go to the Government and Government only!
The reason that we vote is to have a Government that control all corporations, lenders, borrowers, sellers, buyers.... our way of life in general!
So you can say that now the people of all over the world have to lay in the bed that a few millions Americans vote for us! ;)
Lets see this time if our American friend make the right choice!
