Runs. Crazy, not stupid.

Postby JPCCDD » Sun Jun 22, 2008 6:04 am

I noticed that maybe some people don't really grasp that yes, we are a bunch that likes to drive very fast at times, but we do it in a manner that doesn't risk lives too much. The midnight run set to run through the canyons was too much for even the Fast Forward Crew. When I worked Cole-Schaefer in Glendora, I can recall numerous times when I had to go into the mountains at 2AM for bikes or cars that had run off of the road on either Azusa or GMR. When the trip was revealed to us, the normal group decided against it, and never planned on going on it, even if it hadn't been cancelled. Sorry Dilancer. The Midnight run is a quick sprint to somewhere, then playing around or eating somewhere. I can recall a time a few years ago when I did a few crazy moves and the crew helped me straighten out and be safer. This is a fast group, but not a dangerous one. I just wanted to throw this out there for the newbs so they don't get the wrong idea about us.

Thanks James for posting. From someone who has been part of our more spirited runs, I agree...Safety has always been a concern among the group...

Well when the opportunity was there I thought that some of you guys would enjoy the ride.

So "yes" blame it on me..... I gave the go-ahead for he run as I figured some of you wanted to step up the rides.

Now that I know you guys are fine with the normal I'm O.K. with that.... I guess we'll just have to save it for the auto-X.

Sorry to say...some of US "slower" folks have felt this way for a long time. I have said it over and over again...we need to chill. But...it was on deaf ears. Now I am glad you "fast" guys are realizing.

all the malibu runs or the redondo...150mph plus was NORMAL. I hated it. I am glad it is out in the open. I am not the only one that feels this way....

I am happy we can agree to not be so crazy anymore.

High speeds on the straight aways are ok with me as long as no cars are around. But passing on double yellows, night canyon runs, drifting on streets, ect... is the problem. And I want people to know that we save this stuff for Auto-X or Willow Springs.

From what I gather James is not saying that the normal runs with sprints of 90-150 are being considered here it's the NIGHT TIME CANYON RUNS he's talking about....

Trust me, I don't think he's talking about the regular sprinted runs guys... OLC will stay in effect....

I agree with James, Im not down with a canyon run especially at nite cause i care too much about my car and life haha.

I wish we coulda had our old school midnight run like we did last year with the empty highway drag racing. :( maybe next time!

I think I am going to go on a canyon run and drift some corners tonight on Angels Crest in my silver Boxster at 12:00AM sharp. I will post up videos on youtube after I am done.
