As some of you present daily in the forum notice that our foot traffic is dropping dramatically. The reasons could be slow economy, housing drama, high gas price, unemployment creep up or what ever excuse you may have. I like to propose a stimulus package to drive up our forum with more healthy activities, fun, and most of all "meet & run" to drag members from limp to limp back to the forum for a healthy, profitable second half of 2008.

Let have a Democratic vote for this bill to pass the House.

Hmm, Im not sure about that Peter, it is my opinion that we may have burned ourselves out by having too many "meets" and "gtgs" so close to eachother. And also, I do understand that for alot of the members here... we are not there only friends and have a life outside of the forum and gtg's. So for me its understandable that some meets will have less people and some will have alot, it all depends on work schedules, money, personal interest and weather not they want to see our mugs so soon again,

Stimulus event you say? Here's a suggestion. But first one question: What is one of the more successful events almost everyone can be a part of? Answer: A charity event.

Why don't we organize an event for children's charity? It does not have to be big. We'll start with a local children's clinic or hospital (or something similar).

Pcars.us members can contribute /collect gifts, coordinate with the recipient, meet and drive down to the place (pcars style), and witness the smiles we can bring to the less fortunate children. Like I said it doesn't have to be big. And it's just a suggestion. Thoughts?

This idea has come to pass on several threads but boils down to who will take charge, we would all like to be a part but someone to spear-head the event and get the ball rolling would receive full support from FFW & Pcars...

Let me see if I can start this ball rolling...my wife works at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I will ask her to inquire about protocol on visiting / donating to the children. We can start with just one dept..

I just want the pcars group to be known as not just a bunch of cool guys but also a group of kind-hearted, family-oriented, children-loving folks. Wouldn't you guys want to be a part of this (soon-to-be) legacy?

And it doesn't have to be Christmas in December

LA children hospital I surely can donate because my baby cousin was in there for 4-5 years
so I would donate to there and help other kids...
my cousin had had received toys from rich people or kind-hearted people twice when he was in there... maybe we can do that!!!

As I said I'll be happy to offer full support, maybe put down some ideas on paper and we can sit down for an hour or two to go over some logistics. My real problem is I just don't have the time it takes to make the calls, set up the appointments, arrange parking, arrange donation promotions, gain permits (if neeeded), call for escort (CHP) if you go that route etc etc.....

Hey Jojo,

You don't have to convince me. I can imagine what these children must be facing. Since my wife is undergoing chemo and radiation in preparation for surgery I fully understand.

I would be more than happy to participate in any way that I can once you have the needed information.
