Boxster bumper

Postby cameronc08 » Mon Nov 20, 2006 1:38 pm

Anyone know what type of bumper this is (Silver Boxster)? I was going to buy the 996 Turbo bumper a while ago, which was quite similar, but I would have had to change virtually every part connected to the front of the car. This seems to fit the Boxster how it is, unless they did some work themselves.

Slightly different; the front lips aren't quite the same, though the one you linked is the actual Turbo bumper, just for a Boxster I believe. I wish I saw this a year ago...I'll see what strings I can pull  .

Thanks for the link man.

Eli,

I am buying a new bumper soon, and I really like this one. Unless you know of another Boxster bumper that has a more unique look to it, I am going to try and talk my father into this one (He's the one with the bank flow  ). I'll definately get back to you either way when I decide!

Looks like the one in the photo is a fiberglass with the mesh insterts which www.pcars.com can offer at $800

The other way to go would be the polyurethane, this way you can use OEM grills. You're looking at spending $1049 for this one.

www.pcars.com should have these up along with enhanced photos within the month.

I have a 2002 and would really like to know how much and where to get the mesh grills.
Mine is Black, and I think that would look great.

Hey looking to do some improvements on a factory Boxter, but not able to spend too much on. I'm torn between the new rims or the intake and exhaust. Any ideas?
The 2.7 could use the extra pep, and would like a cooler sound.
But rims woul make the look much better.
Eli, you respond to everything, what do you think?

Personally I'd opt for the Wheels first..... Kinda funny to sound like something but look like everyone.... TT can pull it off but a stock boxster may have trouble looking cool.....

The wheels will enhance the overall look of the car that everyone can see. You can also have the car's ride height enhanced to compliment the wheels.

Just my .02 but hey, you asked for it..... :)

Couple of questions, I have seen several Boxters with 19" rims, will those require the ride height to be enhanced. If so, how involved is that process. Not many people here in KY know how to work on one of these. Need to keep pretty simple to stay away from the "stealership" if you know what I mean.

I saw a '03 boxter s Exhaust for sale, would that really do anything for a 2.7?

Thanks for the advice.

So you think the 03 Boxter S exhaust would sound better, enough to support the investment?

It was on here, $200 plus shipping to KY.
Around $300 total i'm geussing.
Just wondering if it would make much a difference, or should
shell out the extra for an aftermarket one.
