Boxster Owners HELP...

I am about to buy a used Boxster in Los Angeles. I've called to all the Porsche dealers but no one will do a mechanical check up before I buy. THey say it's a liability. The car seems well cared for and the seller has been helpful, but even his mechanic will not give me any details about the car. Car is a 1997 Boxster with 115,000 miles.

Does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions for me? Are there any Clubs in Los Angeles to join, if I buy the car?

You can join our family here and there are couple Boxster owners in here.

How much is he selling it for. 115k miles, that is a LOT of miles. I wouldn't pay over 10k for that many miles. Though I wouldn't buy a car with more than 50k miles anyways.

Thanks for the message. (Did I do this reply right?)
He's asking $12,000. But the nervewracking thing is that the mechanics won't talk about the car.
I actually just wrote an email passing on the car. -snif,snif- it's so sad!
Know any good ones out there with reasonable prices? I'm in California.

Allen, I personally think it was wise to pass up on that deal. That was way too many miles, and after 100k ya never know when things start to go wrong. For a little more you can get a much, MUCH better deal with less miles. I would DEFINATELY recommend picking a Boxster up, they are great cars and a blast to drive. I will definately keep an eye out for some good deals for you though.

Here are two just to give an idea (not sure what your price range is)

You have pretty low miles for the first year of the Boxster... Any photos to share?
