Bump Steer kits... Who makes them for 986's?

Postby CJ_Boxster » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:47 am

I want a bump steer kit to eliminate some of the undesired feedback i get from bumps and cracks in the road... The undesired feedback i speak of is when the steering wheel shakes or wobbles when I hit bump or cracks in the road.

I remember Dre mentioning Bump Steer kits for his 996 and i really want one cause after installing the eibach springs and having them settle, I get alot of steering wheel wobble or jitter over bumps/cracks in the road.

Does anyone know who makes them for the 986 boxster?

Ah, well i just did the alignment myself when i installed the eibachs... However I did hit an marked 2.5 inch deep trench in the asphalt that CalTrans failed to make notice of and since then my steering wheel is cocked alittle to the right and i feel like my balance a bit off.

Well i've done the alignment myself on a digital alignment machine. Not hard at all, you just need to understand the psyhics of an alignment and not to bump the car when you in the middle of the alignment lol.

I couldnt avoid the trench... they cut a 2.5" deep 15' long trench in the single lane entrance from the Vincent Thomas Bridge to the 110 and didnt leave any warning signs... Everyone had to go through it

Yeah well thats half right, the problem that makes it inevitable is that no single mechanical part or electrical part lasts forever and since i have a higher milage boxster, i have to occasionally replace those parts. Like yesterday, i was getting misfire Pcodes for the entire 2nd bank of the engine and i replaced the old o2 sensor on that side of the engine that had never been replaced and that fixed that...

Plus cars are cars, nothing on them lasts forever, except the arm of the brake pedal... those are made super strong on every car in the world.
