seat questions

Postby memphis986 » Fri Sep 12, 2008 8:24 pm

has anyone replaced manual seats ('99) with full power seats ('02+)? if so, was it a direct swap or were there electrical modifications involved? thanks.

i thought the same would be true. as it turns out the passenger seat plugged in and powered up with no trouble at all. the drivers seat has the memory module and i'm guessing the power lead goes to the module and not to the harness that connects to the car.

i can do some DIY projects but not too keen on tackling any wiring or re-wiring. my level of confidence/competance starts and stops at the plug end of the wire. i contacted ladismantlers and they are sending me a seat harness from an 02 that should mate up with the seats. i'm not sure what level of work then entails. i'll hope it's a simple plug in situation but i fear it's a splice in. conceptually it seems so simple - but then, i'm no mechanic either.
