turbo bumper on boxster question

Postby cameronc08 » Mon Feb 20, 2006 5:00 pm

hey guys, question on a bumper I would like to bid on for a 1997 Boxster. This says it is for newer boxsters and 03 911's, but I do not know the dimensions and do not want to bid on somehting that wont fit. This is the exact bumper, spoiler, and even color I want, so if this fits on a 1997 Boxster could you please let me know.

don't know about the exact dimension (width) but the headlight openings will not fit the 1997 Boxster unless you want to change that too.

OK, so pretty much if I want the turbo bumper with that lip I will also need the turbo headlights and new fenders. I already at least need a new left fender and left headlight, so maybe I will sell the perfect condition hardtop, try and get like 2000 for it. I'm assuming I need 2002 911 fenders for that bumper? Where would be a good place to get them cheap, used, new, dont care, just cheap. Also if anyone has the litronic turbo healdights they would sell either single or together I need them to. I guess if anyone could sell anyone of this stuff I would buy it since I need it all. So between the Xenon turbo headlights, the turbo front bumper with the lip, and the 02 fenders, would 3500 be enough for that you think? This is excluding the installation since my Uncle could do that, and not worrying about paint right now. Tahnks again for the help, need to get this stuff asap. Right now the car is not drivable because I NEED a new bumper, fender and headlight, so figured why not get the ones I like while I'm at it.

funny thing is, I'm in PA right now, but my father might be going to California next week, the rest of the family moving shortly thereafter. That is one of the reasons we are trying to get it done asap. But we can't be spending nearly that much on this car. I found the bumper for about 5-600, the lights I can get used for like 1k for both, and the fenders are probably like 2-400 dollars. I am not worrying about installation, so that is about 2-2500 dollars right there, I dont see why it would be 9k. Is there something that I am missing, or is it because I am looking at used parts? Which I dont mind?

PS- On a sidenote, if you live in or near LA, or anywheres in California, how do you like it? We cannot wait to get out of Pennsylvania, and it would be a dream come true to move to California for us, unless its not as good as I think it would be. Nice weather and everything I here year long...

blacknight, nice find of 997 front on Boxster.

cameronc08, $8-9G included labor. if u do it yourself, then just the cost of the parts.

CA is great, weather is top. A lot of exotics to spot and things to do year round. What city are your family moving to?

Not quite sure, but the company is in Van Nuys, I beleive around Malibu. How is the surrounding area? I've never been to California. But anyways, I'm putting the hardtop online for sale and don't want to start with ebay. Any good suggestions of where to try and get between 1500-2000 for it. Its black and new. Also, I am willing to trade for the turbo xenons, if anyone wants to do that. So any good places to start placing it for sale or to trade for the lights would be greatly appreciated!

Place your FS item in our Classified Section. Add a pic to your post would get a buyer faster.

Malibu is definitely an affluent community in the LA area, right next to the ocean, where the Stars live. Great places to see exotic cars daily. Just happened this week, there was an Enzo totaled on PCH in Malibu. Link below.
