Twin Turbo Boxster on the dyno

Postby gwhand » Mon Oct 15, 2007 1:40 pm

Finally have the Boxster has been dynoed.

I still need another test and tune day but I am about 50 hp at the wheels over my baseline. I am developing full boost at 2800 rpm. The gains are very linear and oem feeling.

Growing up all the car magazines spoke of how amazing Porsches are. My question is was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.

Here is a dyno of my baseline then the iA supercharger and finally the twin turbo.

We have some tweaking to do and hopefully after that we should get more power.

The power curve is nice and comes on quicker than any of the other options.

The cost is in the 6 - 7k range.

A 3.6 will not fit in my non egas 99 without alot of wiring work. A 3.4 will fit with no problem.

As far as cost goes a year ago when I looked into it the 3.4 install would have been in the 15K range.

After the cost of the sc and the turbo I should have done the 3.4

I could have rebuilt a mean 3.4 for the money I have spent but all is well.

My opinion on these upgrades is simple. If you have the cash or the time to do it yourself do the 3.4

If you want similar power for half the price get the turbo.

If you want to supercharge the car find a used one from someone selling their car.

There is currently a 1 year old sc for sale.

The current phase we are tweaking the A/F ratio and I expect another 10 across the board.

The next phase is an increase in the boost to 8psi. I expect 20 -30 across the board, all of this of course is to the wheels, not the crank.

Please ask any questions you may have.
