Zeintec New Top for Convert Boxster

Postby cameronc08 » Fri Apr 06, 2007 1:07 am

Anyone have information on this hardtop. If it's not expensive, and if it even exists, I'd love to get one! I read about it a long time ago when it was under production, but haven't heard anything since, so I am wondering if it is for sale now.

I just found there website, it seems that they are actually just beginning delivery of the product now, and have a warehouse stationed in Beverly Hills, nice!! Downside is it cost 5 large :(. Oh how I yearn to own this hardtop...;

If I was riding a Boxster I would really consider this upgrade.... Looks sort of like the Cayman! Just add a wing and Dang, you're looking Too-Cool...

I would definately buy the top if it wasn't 5k. It isn't worth putting that kind of investment on an older car with considerable miles, especially since it already has the original hardtop. I'll stick with buying black rims, and when this one passes onto Porsche heaven and Father/I upgrade onto a new Porsche we will consider one for a Boxster! I would never buy a Cayman with this out though!!

I would spend the 5K, where else can you get such an upgrade for the price...? Wheels are great and all but this is a huge transformation to your cars appearance....

Besides when you sell the car you can always remove it and get at least 1/2 of what you paid for it, maybe more than that.

Curious, any Boxster owners looking into one of these? I want to see what it looks like in person!

wow so they are actually delivering this now. I also read about this hardtop a while back. I thought it was only in Euro...yes this is the CAYMAN top...that pretty much transforms your boxster to a Cayman. Super clean...

agreed with ELI...I would opt for this...I mean you would literally have TWO totally different looking cars. I own a cab with the hardtop...and I love the slight differences. But this baby...talk about transformation.

"Yeah baby in the summer I ride my Boxster around....but in the winter I like the take out the Cayman...yeah I bought both in the same color...and same rims...oh yeah I have the same music in there too...and I was able to have the same license plate on both vehicles too....yah...thats the ticket..."

hahahahahahh! I have the orignal hardtop on the Boxster, and I like to keep it on all the time (I like coupes over convertables usually, don't ask). But this one is definately nicer and completely transforms the car into something more original and unique. First black rims, then this perhaps!

i really hated it when i first saw it (they've made some improvements since then) and it's growing on me a little. i don't think i'd spend $5K, but it really does change the look of the car.

be aware that the clamshell and rear trunk cover need to be removed to install this top. it's not like you can just 'take off' the top if the weather is nice.

the other thing that irks me about this top is the rounded window/rear side window fitment. it looks a little odd to me.

Well if I could afford a 987 I would own one already...But this makes a 1st gen Boxster look at close to a Cayman as it gets, and I read it could be removed on whim, but I might have read wrong.

hah...hahahh...God I wish my avatar was my car.

No, click where it says 'My Vehicle'...Just a plain 'ol Boxster...I am going to get the wheels on there painted black by the man himself, Eli, pretty soon. And am tempted on the Zeintec top. I'm actually planning on getting a G35 this summer (keeping the Boxster of course).

Being 19, I was pretty P I M P back in NY driving the convertable, but moving to SoCal I'm basically a nobody now hahahah.... :lol: :lol: :lol: ...... :cry:
