With those numbers, you can take on the all new M3.

I tried a few times to over pass this Bimmer but failed to do so. I did pulled close to his rear end from 3-4 cars length but that was it.![]()
Lately, I seem to noticed that my 996 is no match for some of the rides that I raced on the street.
1. 00 Supercharged Acura Integra, I won by a car length. 3 runs.
2. 05 Supercharged Infiniti G35, I won by about 2 car length. 2 runs.
3. 08 BMW 335i twin turbo, well read the above paragraph.![]()
Time to shop for EVOMS supercharger or a 996 TT.

Right now I would have to say my 2007 Prius![]()
Seriously, I love them both, I know I'm gonna get flammed for this but IMHO the MBZ is better build. (atleast in my experience, the AMG's are better in terms of lack of rattling sounds and cheap plastic parts.)
My 997 turbo have squeaks and rattles here and there, and the passenger seat belt slot is noisy and flimsy the car only has 4500 miles. I read in the other forums some members have the same issues. My 996 turbo 2003 never had any squeaks and rattling sounds. (I only had it for 3 months then I got my 2006 E55).
The use of cheap plastic parts and over charging customers is why porsche is the most profitable automaker in the world.
With all that said, I have to say "the porsche driving experience THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE!!!!"
I'm glad I have both, it balance out the need for luxury, comfort, and exceptional driving experience.

Then from there they factor in certain traits that they are looking for to narrow it down. Price is usually the first factor and when you break it down like that the MB and Porsche cars are in the same price ranges.
Also, I have been saying it for a while that Porsche has been slacking a lot in their engineering and advancement. Hopefully the GTR will be a nice wakeup call for these guys.
In todays world trying to be a "sports car" is tough. Especially when you consider that there are 300+ HP econo-boxes all over the place and they can be fixed up to go to 600+ HP and handle like they are on rails.
