Sharks at the Park

Postby jorj7 » Sun May 11, 2008 10:19 pm

Went to the 8th annual Sharks at the Park this weekend. Had about
40 928s show up for the picnic and fun drive. No bikinis, but still some
beautiful sights. Here are a few shots:

Next weekend it's the Nevada Open Road Challenge in Ely Nevada,
a 90 mile open road race on highway 318.

Thanks CL, Daytrader, and corona. It was a fun event. The next
large 928 gathering is the Sharks at the Lake on June 15th at Lake
Tahoe. There is also a big 928 event in Anaheim call Sharktoberfest,
that's usually near the end of October. Don't know the exact date
yet.

Cool looking group of cars you got there.... BTW: I have a set of those wheels you see there in the first photo, second red car.

If you know anyone who's looking for a set, this set is unfinished in chrome.... The condition is not to my standards but "I know someone who can make them new again"...

It's got an electric motor and lots of batteries. He's going to up grade
the batteries from lead acid to Lithium to save weight and add range.

The current range is about 50 miles.

Here is a page about the car:

It might be too far to go to. It's in Northern California between
Moraga and Martinez on Bear Creek Road. It's a fun road to travel.
I blew the engine on my bike there many years ago, going 110 mph
around one of those sweeping turns. Locked up the rear wheels,
but I managed to pull in the clutch before I lost it, and coasted to
a safe stop. Fond memories... :)
