Hey Guys,

I figured I'd resurrect and jump back in.

The car looks great Todd. I know you've been working hard at getting it back together and also keeping the cost reasonable for the rebuild.

I still am having trouble with the patience. If that's any indication I guess I'm not getting older.

I know you are taking this opportunity to learn a lot about your motor which is great.

I'm looking forward to getting back out myself.

I've had reconstructive surgery on my hand since I've seen the guys last, and I've had my hand in a brace. So, I've been limited.

Once again, It looks great Todd...

I hope the best for you and your famly,

C.L.

Hey Steve... Ya. You guys saw the little finger brace I used to wear. I finally got the surgery done on it. So, I've been limited.

Thanks for the response Steve. I hope you are doing well.

I've tried to back off on WOW a bit..lol

Next run I want to go. I'll make sure I pay attention of when the next run is.

Hey Clarence,

Glad to hear you are doing well. Also glad to hear the surgery went well. Look forward to seeing you in the near future when the dust settles...

Sorry to hear your p-car is down. Hopefully you'll get her back to gether soon!

Hey Big Sean!

Thanks guy. Just dropped the heads off at the machine shop on Monday. Should be ready in the next several days...I'm getting pretty anxious myself...can't wait to get her back on the road...

Not really sure when that's going to happen. The wife is scheduled for surgery in the next couple of weeks, so I'll have to play it by ear...

Glad to hear from you...

Ciao,

Todd

Well Dudes and Dudettes, it's been awhile but I finally had a moment to resume assembly of the motor today. Things are moving along quite nicely. I was able to install the rings, barrels, heads and cam tower. While re-assembling the motor, I also discovered that I have SC cams, which I understand are high performance cams for the old school turbos...

As most of you know, I recently had to send the heads and the barrels out to have new Ni-resist rings made. Had no Idea of what that consisted of until I went to pick them up.

Below are 2 photos. One shows the area just around the valves that had to be machined in order to accept the new Ni-Resist ring. The other shows the little Ni-Resist ring. Expensive little booger.

Anyway, we should be looking pretty good from here on out. So I should be looking good for the new year....

Ciao,

TK

Yes it does. Well, you live and learn. I had no idea that it would be this complex. But I have to remember this is a Porsche not a Honda...

Hope all is well with you and the wifey. You guys have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year...

Hey Aren,

Connie is doing well, all things being considered. She's getting around much better and will be returning to work tomorrow. This sitting at home everyday is killing her. We went to see her doctor today and it looks as though she'll be resuming chemo treatments in February. Not out of the woods yet, but close...

You guys have a safe trip to NY. It's definitely a great place to visit. Not to sure if I'd want to be there in December though. Kinda cold you know...

But the wife and I have always wanted to see it during winter time. I have also been told that it is the most beautiful during winter. That is why we are going.

Well fam, I accomplished a bit more on the assembly. I installed the rocker arm shafts, rocker arms, camshafts, sprockets, tensioners and guide rails and will be taking the assembly to my mechanic on Saturday morning so that he can adjust and set the cam timing. Once the cam timing is done then I can finish up the assembly. I would do it myself; however, I don't have the dial indicator or the cam tool to do it correctly myself.

I'll also be taking two weeks off starting December 22. This will give me sufficient time to focus on getting the car up and running before years end....

Cant wait...
