Yesterday I installed the K&N air charger kit.
Yes, definitely an improvement off course in sound... and I think I got another 10 hp... hopefully.

Questions:

1) Do I oil the filter?
2) I wrapped the filter with the net that comes in the kit, but I've never seen one with it.

The Oil probably every 5 months depending where you live and the dust in that area and where you drive.

the net is a dry charger, its a net that catches the larger particles from coming into contact with the filter itself.

I have not oil my filter in the last 18 months. Just wash with soap and water and air dry. I don' even use the net at all, still in the plastic bag that came with it.

What no NET???

I dont find it on the www.pcars.com and am only buy my Porsche parts from there.

I can set up a group buy on the K & N filters for the 996, if we can get 3 in the group we can do $299 per each if we can get 5 or more in the group we can do $279 per each.

Installation is available at $25

I do think that the only option for the Trubo through K&N is the filter replacement.

A kit like the one listed here will run around $750 USD but I too can get a group buy together in order to get the cost down. I'm pretty sure with a group of 4-5 I could get them down to maybe $650.

Thank you Eli but $650 are too much, what is the standard price for a TT K&N filter replacement, do you have it?
