Since you need a clutch maybe you can consider going with a flywheel too? I dont know if you are into those kinds of mods.

I bought a set and love it...I have the EVOMS Stage II clutch and lightweight flywheel. I think it is great.

Next GTG little steve...you can listen to my car idle. It sounds like something is broken...kinda like DUCATI motorcycles and their dry clutch.

You can hear the flywheel spinning...and it makes a noise. Some peeps do not like it and therefore do not get one. But GHG supposedly designed one that does not rattle.

I like it as it really makes the revs go up quickly and brings my power to lower RPMs. I dont need to go to 200mph, but I would like to get to 100 quicker. So it is a give an take.

Pardon my ignorance AI, but is it GHG or GMG :?: Getting ready to have mine replaced and I've read some posts at 6speed about the LWFW and the chatter. Just making sure I have the right info when the time comes. Thanks bud.

He meant GMG.

thanks...yes GMG.

as for my flywheel and clutch it is the EVOMS STAGE II kit

and from the evoms website:

This level 2 upgrade contains all of the level 1 system and incorporates solid billet flywheel. The OEM 28 LB. dual mass flywheel is replaced with this solid 12 lb. CNC Machined aluminum and steel flywheel. The weight reduction allows the motor to rev quicker for better acceleration and incredible throttle response. This stronger clutch kit will support any modified Boxster. Offers 100% daily drive ability with little increase in clutch pedal effort. Smooth engagement for everyday use.

and as far as I know the "chatter" is 100% normal. I wouldn't say it is metal on metal but again...sitting in idle you hear a distinct noise coming from the flywheel. As some of the OGs here can attest to, last year I had a brand new reman tranny from Porsche, sent from Germany installed along with this clutch and flywheel as well as my 30K service. The work was done by TRE in NoHo.

It's sort of a crap shoot when installing these aftermarket parts. I upgraded my flywheel and clutch as well. I went with a Fidanza FW and a Kennedy Stage II PP and Disk and have had no noise issues whatsoever. The clutch is awesome; however, I've spoken to guys who have used the same clutch kit and they get the noise that Irv is referring too...
