Hey gang...can anyone enlighten me on whether or not it would be okay to use synthetic oil in my older PCAR? Currently, I'm using Lucas Racing Motor Oil.

Not switching. Just a general question regarding any benefits of using synthetic vs. traditional oil...Currenlty, the car doesn't run hot at all, so from that perspective I'm good...

Many report that it's not good to change over once an engine has come from a certain type of oil..... Reported seal damage etc.

I personally have never switched from Reg to Syn so I can't speak from experience on this one but if I were in your boat I wouldn't take the chance.

As I said, I'm taking the advise from those with experience. This is the reason why I never changed oils... Trust me, I wanted to with my new truck but then those voices in my head started to kick in...
